While their mission, vision and goals are inspiring and visionary, at the end of the day an entrepreneur needs to demonstrate their capacity to build a financially sustainable business.
However difficult it is to use, a well-designed framework provides structure and a good start to focus our efforts in an efficient manner. We highly recommend Results Based Accountability (RBA), also known as Outcomes-Based Accountability, a framework primarily used by government agencies and nonprofits. Yet, it can be very efficient for any type of entrepreneurs and enterprises.
Becoming an entrepreneur is THE dream for many people, regardless of gender, race, location, background etc. Some spend years of their life talking about being an entrepreneur and the great ideas they have, but don’t ever realize that dream. At Caravanserai Project we call them “armchair entrepreneurs”.
Based on our experience with entrepreneurs, we identified a set of 7 traits that any individual with aspirations to build a business enterprise should demonstrate.
We may never be able to get back to how things were – and frankly we should not strive to – but in order for us to move forward and create a workspace that is ready to welcome back employees and teams, this is the time to turn the intentions of DEI we have been setting into measurable actions across our organizations.
Now more than ever, all eyes are on how well an organization is performing its duties and fulfilling its promises to its stakeholders. As a member of the board of directors, you are the champion of your organization. It is ultimately up to you and your peers to steer the ship on the right course, practice continuous trust building, and sustain a culture of growth, learning and accountability within your board and organization.
