Designing Compelling Narratives for Your Venture

This workshop is designed to guide entrepreneurs, for profit and nonprofit, through the process of crafting a compelling grant narrative using principles of design strategy. By incorporating creativity, and a little bit of drawing, participants will learn how to design services and products that not only meet the requirements of funders but also address the real needs and aspirations of their target communities.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of this workshop, the participants will have the knowledge and tools to reflect their products and services into compelling narratives, which not only enhance their chances of securing funding but also ensures their projects are truly aligned with the needs of their target communities.

Speaker

Marithza Quiroz, Learning Experience Designer

Marithza Quiroz (they/them) studied Visual Culture, Media, and Technology at University of California Berkeley and obtained a master’s degree in Learning Design and Technology from Stanford University earlier in 2023. As a visual storyteller and designer, Marithza is committed to the idea that art and design can revolutionize learning and foster fresh avenues of engagement and community-building.

Born and raised in Sonora, Mexico, Marithza’s own immigrant experience instills her belief that quality learning opportunities should be accessible to all, regardless of age, gender, or immigration status. Beyond her work, Marithza finds joy in drawing comic strips and exploring the city via public transportation.
